The Event Academy (Ashdown Academy Ltd) looks to find as many opportunities for its Students and Alumni to gain experience in the events industry as possible. To achieve this, we invite organisations (Organisers) to share with us any short-term event related jobs they have, whether voluntary or paid. We then share the information we are given with you, so that you can decide if you would like to apply for them. We cannot check all the opportunities out beyond reading the job descriptions that they send to us, so please make your own decisions about whether to apply.

By applying to this role, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms regarding my work (volunteering or paid) for Organisers at the events shared by The Event Academy.

1. Participation

I understand that my decision to work at any events is entirely voluntary and my own decision and I may not be entitled to monetary compensation for my time or efforts unless stated otherwise.

2. Minimum Age Requirement

I confirm that I am 18 years or older.

3. Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that working at events may involve certain risks, including but not limited to physical activity, travel to and from the venue, and interaction with event attendees. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation.

4. Liability Release

I release and hold harmless The Event Academy, its staff, partners, and Organisers from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising out of or related to my work in these events, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

5. Health and Safety Compliance

I agree to adhere to all health, safety, and security guidelines provided by The Event Academy, Organisers, and associated organisers including venue staff etc. I will inform the organisers of any pre-existing medical conditions that may affect my participation.

6. Conduct and Representation

I agree to act professionally and courteously when working on an event. I understand that any inappropriate behaviour may result in my removal from the event and limit future volunteering opportunities and for current students, could affect the result of my course grade.

7. Photo and Media Consent

I consent to the use of photographs, videos, or other media featuring my participation for promotional purposes by The Event Academy and associated event organisers.

8. Insurance Coverage

I understand that The Event Academy does not provide personal health, accident, or liability insurance to cover your participation at these events or activities.

9. Termination of Volunteer Role

I understand that The Event Academy or the Organiser reserves the right to terminate my work as a participant at any time without prior notice, should circumstances require.

10. Acknowledgment of Terms

I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this waiver. I understand that this document is legally binding and that I am waiving certain rights.
